Chinese honorific occupies an important position in the daily communication of the Chinese ethnic groups, which also plays an significant role in the oversea students" daily contact with Chinese.In teaching Chinese as a second language,honorific is not only a part of language teaching,but also a part of culture teaching.This article contains five parts, the definition and classification of honorific, sentence senses, the honorific arrangement in the teaching materials, the acquisition errors and the advance in teaching and learning. The first part is the introduction. In this part, we pointed out the research history, expounded the research object and the goal of this topic. The research technique and the innovation of the topic were both included.The first chapter defined the Chinese honorific, according to the actual needs of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Honorific expresses respect meaning or sentimental color, used to allege other people or the things related to others, not including the modest words, and belongs to the vocabulary section of polite language. we classified the honorifics appeared in the primary and intermediate teaching materials of spoken Chinese. Honorific can be divided into four types, such as relative title class, general class, professional and post class and personal pronouns class.The second chapter introduced the sentence patterns sense comprehensively, as well as restrictive condition of using honorific. The sentence patterns sense embraces showing respect, manners, scoff, distance, solemness and self-control of the communicators; restrictive conditions of using are consisted of two factors:communication occasions, which includes diplomatic occasion, business activities, the work study activities and the informal occasion between non-strangers, and the relation between the communicators, which are consisted of the Communication object’s age, status, occupation and the relation.The third chapter summarized the characteristics of honorific grading in the primary and intermediate oral Chinese teaching materials, based on the exhaustive statistics of the honorific in those teaching materials. We came to a conclusion that the grading characteristics comprise messy, insufficiency, inaccuracy, loss, selectivity.The fourth chapter investigated the honorific acquisition of the primary and intermediate level students through questionnaire, which presented progressive, inconformity, analogical mistakes, vulnerability, insufficiency, impropriety, to explore the causes of errors and "teaching" and "learning" strategy.
