A large number of honorific and humble words exist in Chinese,which is infused by the "ritual culture".By acquiring some knowledge of the language,understanding its culture and using it correctly,learners of Chinese as a second language can improve their communicative skills.This paper aims to understand in detail the current situation of teaching Chinese as a second language through a comprehensive study of the three major elements of teaching: materials,students and teachers.This paper is divided into three steps: the first step is to select Boya Chinese as the main object of the study on honorific and humble words;the second step is to put the honorific and humble words in the textbook into the HSK dynamic composition corpus to search for students’ acquisition of honorific and humble words;the third step is to investigate the classroom teaching situation of Chinese teachers of foreigners.The full paper is divided into four parts:The first part is the introduction,which introduces the language as an indispensable presence in Chinese language from the fact that language is the bloodline gene for recording culture,and the development of culture further strengthens the vitality of language,and outlines the purpose and significance of the article,the current status of the study,and the research method,respectively.The second part examines the ontology of the language,defining it from the perspectives of context,morphemes and semantics,and describing in detail the ethnic,contemporary and cultural characteristics of the Chinese language.The third part is an analysis of the current situation of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Firstly,the paper summarizes the problems in the arrangement of honorific and humble words from the inclusion and distribution of honorific and humble words in the syllabus and textbooks of Chinese for foreigners.Secondly,through the screening of the terms,this paper searches them in the HSK dynamic composition corpus to understand students’ acquisition of the terms,and further summarizes three types of errors commonly committed by students: First,mixing the terms;Second,creating the terms;Third,overusing the terms.Based on the types of students’ errors,the reasons for their errors were summarized.Finally,a questionnaire was distributed to teachers of Chinese as a foreign language to investigate the current situation of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and to analyse the problems that need to be solved in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.The fourth part relies on a comprehensive study of the teaching materials,students and teachers,and proposes targeted suggestions for guidance based on the problems that emerge.
