The Accepting Study Of The New Criticism In China

The New Criticism had an important impact on the world’s critical theory, until today, its’ impact still exists, especially the "semantic analysis", has become an indispensable theoretical tool when we analyze the text. Based on the summarization of previous research experience, this paper analyzes the acceptance status of The New Criticism in China, including three aspects:the acceptance situation of The New Criticism in China; the localization characteristics of The New Criticism; the erroneous understanding of the people to The New Criticism and the solution to itThe first part, the paper gets to the bottom of the acceptance overview of The New Criticism in China, which can be divided into four periods, including two small climaxes: from the early of1930s to the end of1940s and1990s, a big high tide:from the end of the1970s to the end of the1980s, and one low tide:from the early of the1950s to the end of the1970s, showing a wavy line model in the process of historical development. In two small climaxes and a big high tide, The New Criticism is organized, through the scholars’ scattered Translation to theorists’ systematic study to critics’ practical application. At low tide, it is as the object of criticism.The second part, the paper mainly analyses the localization of The New Criticism in three aspects, including the concept of localization, the presentation schema and the significance. The localization of The New Criticism is an organic process of growing, which is based on Chinese classical literary theory, recruiting the theory of The New Criticism to achieve the development of Chinese literary theory.In the process of the localization of The New Critical theory, George Ye, Lacks Yuan, Zhu Ziqing, Qian Zhongshu, Chia-ying yeh etc, are the major participants. George Ye’s contribution is mainly focused on two aspects:the writing of the new poetry and criticism; the comparison of Chinese and Western characters; Lacks Yuan’s main contribution is to offer the theory of Most large ideology and dramatize of the new verse; Zhu Ziqing’s main contribution is to reference The New Critical theory to criticize the classical Chinese literature; Shu’s main contribution is to offer the Interpretation of the cycle and expound grammatical category of The New Criticism; Chia-ying yeh’s main contribution is to offer the Xingfa touch role in the poetry criticism.Analyzing the theoretical contributions of the major players in the localization process of The New Criticism, we can conclude that the traditional Chinese method of criticism and criticism of the main personality involved in the localization of The New Criticism and these two characteristics play an important role in the construction of the modern Chinese poetics and the development of the traditional Chinese literary criticism.The third part, the paper mainly analyzes the misreading to The New Criticism and methods to overcome. The concept of confusion and lack of innovative is the main problem in the theory of the localization process of The New Criticism. Their solutions related to The New Criticism in the future destiny of China. To this end, domestic scholars in the study of the New Criticism theory should not only discern some of the basic concepts of the theory of New Criticism, but also should pay attention to the local context.
