Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (TCFL)is not only a language teaching,but also a kind of cultural teaching. For those foreigners who have grasped their ownnative language and cultivated in themselves the whole set of native culture,learningChinese is,in fact,a process of learning to adapt themselves to and accept Chineseculture. To achieve cross-cultural communication, learning language alone is notenough, we must also grasp its cultural connotations hosted. In the TCFL, the ancientliterature courses is a culture teaching which is based on the knowledge of ancientliterature as the core, which is different from the language courses. The purpose of thelanguage courses is cultivation of language skills. The poetry of Tang and SongDynasty, are the pinnacle of the ancient Chinese literature, they developed Under thebackground of Chinese culture, in the influence of Chinese philosophy, aesthetics andliterary development,but it demonstrates the profound cultural connotations. In thisarticle,the author presents the views and opinions about how to effectively make theforeign students to accept the traditional Chinese culture imperceptibly when they arelearning the ancient poetry, and Strengthening the ability of cross-culturalcommunication, improving the teaching effectiveness of Chinese. To help foreignstudents overcome the obstacles of learning Chinese as soon as possible.
