With the continuous development of society, education for child gets more and more attention by people. However, children’s illustrations play an important role in child education, and they are regarded as“golden key”which help children studying and understanding the world. Today, the deign of children’s illustrations is not only simple and understandable but also has various forms and methods for expressing and abundant elements for designing. Therefore, it is significant for children’s illustrations to analyze children’s psychological characteristics of different stages and conclude the aesthetic features in children’s illustration creation.The truly excellent children’s illustrations not only convey information, but also make children under the influence of art, cultivate the ability of thinking and imagining. This paper presents the development status, expression methods, arts features, and so on, about children’s illustrations. It can be concluded that children’s illustrators need to control the picture accurately, listen to the voices of children’s heart and understand children’s interest so as to create more aesthetic works.This topic explores and analyzes psychology and aesthetic of children in different ages, and summarizes the aesthetic features and artistic influence. Only the illustrations of artistic aesthetic can come into the emotional world, and inspire children’s mental and aesthetic. The cultivation of children’s aesthetic consciousness has great significance for the quality improvement and aesthetic education. In order to produce the children’s illustrations of Chinese characteristics, illustrators must consider different development features and color preference, and integrate the Chinese cultural elements into the creation of illustration.
