In human life ,there is shyness all the time, and Shyness is universal. Zimbardo(1977) for cross-cultural study shows that only 7% of Americans have never felt shy .Taiwan JingWu scholars at the results of the study also found that only 7% of thecollege students have never felt shy . A survey showed that 90% of people in their lifeactivities report in some extent have shy of the experience. Shyness is individual inreal or imagined social situation in performance of excessive self-attention, and withthe negative ego-value. Shy to shame and embarrassment for individual sense willlead to social inhibition behavior. The shy often immerse in pain, and shy negativeexperience affects every aspect of life, such as professional planning, marriage. The research About shy cognitive and neural physiological is less. There is notmany investigation of shy undergraduates in China. It is less to use Behaviormeasuring technology to study shy undergraduates’cognitive bias in China. But thereare many investigation of social anxiety , which has many similarities with shyness inbehavior. In the study, freshman students of Shandong Normal University wasmeasured, the selection of score in the top 27% of college students as high shy of testgroup, scoring in the 27% of the students are as a less shy of test group, combinedwith the behavior measurement technology tries to reveal the characteristic the andcognitive differences of the low and high shy undergraduates. Study 1 adopted amixed design of 2×3×3. Shyness is between-group independence variable, faceexpression and word are within-group independence variable. Reaction time andaccuracy is dependent variable. The goal is to compare the difference between the twogroups in Interference suppression characteristics of attention bias . Study 2 adopted a mixed design of 2×2.Shyness is between-group independence variable, Evaluationword is within-group independence variable. Reaction time and accuracy is dependentvariable. The results indicate as following by the two experiments of cognitive feature andbias:(1) The faces of different expressions influence word judgment. Positive ,neuraland negative face expression are difference significantly in reaction time. The positiveand the neutral are more than negative.(2) The judgment of word in reaction time is difference significantly. Negativeword is more than Positive and neural word.(3) The individuals of different shyness level are significantly difference at thedifferent facial expressions. Positive facial expression is more than neutral andnegative facial expressions.(4) The individuals of different shyness level are significantly difference at theword judgment in accuracy rate. High shyness is more than low shyness.(5) The individuals of different shyness level are significantly difference at thememory recognition of different type words in accuracy rate. Negative evaluationword is more than positive word for low shyness. Negative evaluation word is lessthan positive word for high shyness. Low shyness is more than high shyness at thepositive evaluation word.(6) High shyness is more than low shyness at the memory recognition inaccuracy rate.
