In some recent years, learning Chinese have been a trend all over the world. ChineseGovernment have been extremely interested in teaching Chinese and spreading Chineseculture to the world. Vietnam is not an exception of that trend. In Vietnam, more andmore people learn Chinese."How to speak and communicate in Chinese so well likeChinese people?", it is a big question to all learners. And after the basic lessons aboutpronounciation, grammar, Chinese proverbs and idioms are the doors that can open athousand-year-history culture.Chinese idioms are the important parts of Chinese vocabulary. They are similar withsayings (proverbs) in which there are so many cultural specialities of Chinese nation.Chinese idioms have origins from the common people so the contents that they expressare very close to the life also the feelings, sentiments, thoughts, customs and habits ofpeople. Chinese idioms’images and words are very familiar, plain and lively.My thesis comprises5parts:The first one is the Overview, in which there are: the meaning of thesis, the researchscope, the research methods and the thesis’s structure. Apart from that, in this part, I alsosummarize the research results of predecessors about Chinese idioms and teaching themfor foreigners.In the second part, I use the comparative method in order to find out the similaritiesand differences between Chinese idioms and Vietnamese ones and slang.In the third part, I survey the errors that Vietnamese pupils often make when theyuse Chinese idioms.The fourth part consits of the classifications and analysis those errors to find outtheir reasons.In the fifth part, based on the researches in the previous parts, I propose somemethods to teach Chinese idioms for Vietnamese pupils.
