The Chinese idiom is an indispensable part of the vocabulary teaching,and it is also one of the difficult points for students of Chinese.Because of the cultural and linguistic differences between different countries,the teaching and learning of Chinese idioms are different as well.As is known to all,Vietnam and China has thousands of years of neighborly history,which gives Vietnamese students certain advantages in learning Chinese idioms.However,influenced by their own culture,the students inevitably make mistakes.Consequently,I want to explore and discuss the topic “Research on the teaching of Chinese idioms to Vietnamese students-taking Hue international studies university as research obj ect” in four parts.The first part analyzes the definition and characteristics of Chinese as well as Vietnamese idioms,and compares them from the perspectives of definition,structure,rhetorical features,and idiom as a sentence component.It also anticipates the difficulties encountered by Vietnamese students in learning Chinese idioms.The second part focuses on the status quo of the teaching and learning of Chinese idioms in Vietnam.It analyzes Vietnamese students' acquisition of Chinese idioms through classroom observation and the results of questionnaire survey.The third part proposes a specific and suitable teaching plan on the basis of the statistics and analysis of the classroom observation and the questionnaire survey.The fourth part,through a statistical analysis ofsurvey,and classroom observation,puts forward teaching suggestions,according to different kinds of idioms.
