Possible selves is the self-concept development component, is the individual onthe present and future potential perceptual cognitive representation, can motivateindividual motive behavior, and has important guidance and regulation for behavior. With the developmentof the possible selves study, scholars have applied the possibleselves to the occupation field and put forward the concept of work possible selves.Work possible selves and career decision-making has more close relationship.Because that undergratuates employment pressure is increasing year by year, theoccupation of caree decision-making influencing factor research has become acommon concern in the social focus. Recent studies have found that work possibleselves have significant predictive effect on career decision-making. Similarly, thecareer decision-making research has found that achievement goal orientation and thecareer decision-making are associated. According to possible selves motivation theory, possible selves can influence an individual’s motivation and individual behavior. Themain purpose of this study is to explore the relationship of possibleselves, achievement goal orientation and career decision-making in the field ofoccupation. This study based on the possible selves theory draws lessons fromdomestic and international correlation research and uses correlation analysis, varianceanalysis, regression analysis and path analysis to investigate the relationship betweenthree variables. The results are as follows:1.Hoped-for work selves, expected work selves were positively correlated with careerdecision-making uncertainty. Hoped-for work selves, expected work selves werenegatively correlated with career indecision. Feared work selves was positivelycorrelated with career indecision. Learning goal orientation was positively correlatedwith career indecision. Performance-avoidance and performance-approach squarelywere positively correlated with career indecision. Hoped-for work selves, expectedwork selves were positively correlated with learning goal orientation. Hoped-for workselves and Feared work selves were positively correlated with Avoiding goalorientation. The three factors of work possible selves were all positively correlatedwith faceing goal orientation squarely. 2.Expected work selves and learning goal orientation has significant prediction on thedeterministic career decision certainty; Feared work selves、hoped-for work selvesand performance-approach has significant prediction on career indecision.3.Learning goal orientation exerts mediating effect on expected work selves andcareer decision certainty; achievement goal orientation(performance-avoidance,performance-approach) exerts mediating effect on hoped-for work selves and careerindecision; achievement goal orientation(performance-avoidance, performance-approach) exerts mediating effect on feared work selves and career indecision.
