Chinese Customs’ Education And Scholarship Demonstration

It is very necessary to understand the culture of the country when learning a foreign language. Chinese and Chinese culture has a long history. As to many speakers whose mother tongue is not Chinese, the systems of their native language and culture are very different from those of China. Therefore, in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, the interpretation of culture should be running through the whole teaching prosess. On the one hand, this can make inernational students to better understand and adjust to the Chinese culture; on the other hand,it can also promote the students’ language studying and to master its real meaning, and make students able to communicate with Chinese correctly and appropriately in the Chinese culture and social background.Teaching Chinese as a foreign language, culture teaching is an important link in it. As we all know, language is one of the most important carrier of culture. So teaching Chinese as a foreign language is not just to teach languages, but also responsible to propagate Chinese culture to the world. Festival culture is the most visible and visual displayment and reflection of Chinese culture, and it is easy to cause the foreign students’interest and enthusiasm. This paper intends to design a teaching plan of introducing and explaining the Chinese traditional festival cultures, for reference of teaching practice.This teaching plan can be roughly divided into two plates. The first plate including five parts: teaching object, teaching content, teaching objectives, teaching methods, teaching time and teaching progress. The second plate is about the specific teaching steps,which have been divided into four class hours.
