Cognition Survey And Analysis Of Chinese Traditional Festivals For Thai Chinese Students

Thai Chinese have a long history and a large number of people,making considerable contributions to the development of Thailand.The descendants of Thai Chinese live in Thailand for generations.Chinese culture is extensive and profound,which has influenced social life and cultural activities of Thai in different historical periods with its unique charm.Chinese traditional festival culture is the essence of Chinese national culture,bearing profound cultural significance.Researching the awareness of Thai Chinese students about Chinese festivals will help us to know the identity and attitude of contemporary descendants of Thai Chinese about their ancestral cultures.This research combs the formation of Thai Chinese society in Thailand,expounds the development of Chinese traditional festivals,mainly introduces celebrations within Chinese families and collective activities held by Chinese associations.Through questionnaires and interviews,this research investigates the cognitive dynamics on Chinese traditional festivals of Thai Chinese students in different learning stages from freshman to senior,explores their understandings of cultural symbols and significance of Chinese traditional festivals,and summarizes the limitations and shortcomings of their recognition.Through explorations and analysis,this research hopes to put forward suggestions attempting to enhance the influence of Chinese festivals,and provide a reference for the teaching strategies of Chinese traditional festival in the future.
