This is a translation report of The Mind of the Traveler: From Gilgamesh toGlobal Tourism by Eric J. Leed. This book is about the travel history of the west,revealing the philosophy of travel. The translator chooses the introduction of the bookas the source text. This report is divided into four parts:1) Project Component,consisting of the background of the project, objectives of the project, significance ofthe project, and layout of the report.2) The Source Text, consisting of the introductionto the ST author, the general information of the ST, the main contents of ST, theevaluation of the stylistic and lexical feature of the ST.3) Translation Difficulties andMethodologies, including translation difficulties, translation preparations, translationmethodologies, and some examples that can explain the translation methods used inthe translation process.4) Conclusion, including the experiences and lessons learnedfrom the project and the prospects for future study. |
