This is a translation report on Electronic Tools for Translators by Austermühl, F.,of which Chapter4: Searching the web and Chapter5: Translation resources on theworldwide web are the source texts. The source texts explain three web searchstrategies and several high quality websites; furthermore, the main contents of thisreport are divided into four parts: Part One is the translation description, including thebackground, objectives and significance. Part Two is the background of the sourcetext, including the author introduction, main contents of the source text, linguisticfeatures of the source text, and evaluation and review of the source text. Part Three isabout translation difficulties and methods. The difficulties lie in the names oftranslation tools, and terminologies of internet search, and understanding difficultiesdue to the lack of background. The methods include: conversion of passive voice, andaddition of proper words, and translation of long sentences. Part Four concludes withthe lessons, implication and unsolved problems in the translation process.
