This is a translation report. Written by Datis Kharrazian in 2013, the source text is the chapter21 of Why Isn't My Brain Working, which teaches people easy strategies to improve their brain function. The poor brain health doesn't just happen to seniors—brain disorder and degeneration are on the rise for young and old alike. The keystone of this book tells us how simple diet and lifestyle changes and nutritional therapy can profoundly impact people's brain health as well as the quality of their life. This translation project includes an E-C translation of Chapter 21 of the book and a translation report. Drawing on the translation, the report summarizes the difficulties encountered in the translation and corresponding solutions. Specifically, based on Text Typology Theory, it analyzes the text functions of medical materials and corresponding translation methods used in the project, such as free translation and so on.
