With the development of the information age, the information technology is widely used in every industry and every field. The study is going to be studying and exploring to apply the information technology to the education field. Because of the less efficiency and poor effects of the traditional English writing instruction method as well as the overload suffered by the medical college students, this study will try to apply the information technology to college English writing course, in hope that which could solve the problems mentioned above.This paper consists of five chapters. Chapter one states the background to this research, the purpose, content and the significance of the research, which made us realize the advantages and necessity of applying information technology to college English writing course. Chapter two has made a definition to Information technology and reviewed the theory of integrating the information technology with English language teaching home and abroad. The Methodology of English Writing Instruction has also been analyzed and summarized. Chapter three has analyzed the current situation and problems occurred in college English writing instruction. It also states the significance of the integrating the information technology with English writing teaching. Chapter four has conducted the real exploration and practice on applying the information technology to college English writing in Hubei University of Medicine. Chapter five summarizes the conclusions of the research, and it points out the limit, shortage and the prospects of the present research.
