A Study On Relation Among Aggressive Behavior, Family Function And Moral Disengagement Of College Students

Aggressive behavior is a prevalent moral behavior among individuals. A series ofcases in recent years showed that aggressive behavior of college students was verycommon. The college students is a group of mature individuals who are receiving highereducation, and they should be rational. But many of them have taken extreme measureswhile facing the conflict. This article aimed at studying the status of aggressive behavior,family functioning and moral disengagement from the perspective of familyenvironment and cognition. The Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire, the Mechanismsof Moral Disengagement and the Family assessment device were administrated to morethan600college students. The results showed that:1. Among college students, boys showed higher tendency of aggressive behaviorthan girls;students, whose mother’s education level is lower, showed more obvioustendency of aggressive behavior.2. Among college students, the level of girls’ family function and function of eachdimension is higher than that of boys’; The family function level of the students fromsingle-parent families was the lowest and that of the family of three individuals is thehighest.3. Among college students, the boys’ moral disengagement level is higher thangirls’.4.The higher tendency of aggressive behavior the individual reveals, the lower hisfamily function level was and the higher the moral disengagement level was.5. College students’ family function and moral disengagement were significantpositive predictors of aggressive behavior.6. Moral disengagement is the mediator variable between family function andaggressive behavior.
