The teaching of culture-oriented antonyms is the blind spot in foreign language teaching,the main task of this study is to combine antonyms teaching and culture teaching, and seek thebest combination between the two points. Culture-oriented antonyms occupy a certain numberin foreign language teaching, and its internal structure and semantics are also complex. Forthe sake of indentifying the scope of culture-oriented antonyms and provide data foundationto the research, the author defines the scope of corpus in the "Chinese Outline grade levelvocabulary and Chinese characters","Xinhua antonym dictionary" and related materials. Inorder to meet the scope of corpus research in exhaustive features, the author selects theappropriate research ideas and research methods to establish a closed corpus through finding,analyzing, filtering and validating the corpus. To simplify the difficult of culture content inthe teaching of foreign language, the author also analyses the characteristics ofculture-oriented antonyms, such as nature, classification, and cultural implication. Throughanalysis the culture-oriented antonyms from grammatical structures and semantics, thenanalyze the statistics of corpus and the survey results, the author hope all these can providethe foreign language teaching with some inspirations and strategies. As for the inspiration offoreign language teaching, attentions should be paid to the preparation of teaching materialsand reference books, all these should be consistent with the practical problems which studentsare faced, and meet the actual needs of students; Learners should focus on the statementscultural terms on the behalf of East-West cultural differences, and emphasize the combinationof language knowledge and culture knowledge, get more connection with social culture anddeepen the understanding of Chinese culture. The teacher should provide with context andintroduce the culture concept properly, cultivate students’ contradictory thinking methods. Asfor the teaching methods, the author will adopt the analogue method, comparison method,classification and expanding method, while focusing on the introduction of cultural.
