Study On The Relationship Between Positive Personality Traits And Resilience Among Soldiers

Positive personality traits refers to the inherent basis generated, and closely related tothe acquired environment, exists in the individual internal which has a positive tendency,determination of people’s thoughts and behaviors of the unique positive psychologicalbehavior patterns, such as confident, optimistic and all positive elements of the organicwhole.Based on overviews of former research and open-ended questionnaire，this study putsforward its own theoretical hypothesis, and forms the questionnaire of positivepersonality traits of soldiers,then using it to research the development of positivepersonality traits and relationship between positive personality traits and resilienceamong soldiers.Study aims to:(1)using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis tostudy the structure of positive personality traits of soldiers;(2)to self-made thequestionnaire of positive personality traits of soldiers;(3)survey the development ofpositive personality traits of soldiers;(4)survey the relationship between positivepersonality traits and resilience of soldiers.Several significant conclusions were drawn as following:(1)The positive personality traits of soldiers has4dimensions: outward, intelligence,integrity, tenacity.(2)The questionnaire of positive personality traits of soldiers has good reliability andvalidity. It can be used as an evaluation tool for positive personality traits of soldiers.(3)The development of positive personality traits of soldiers is in the middle andupper status.(4)The soldiers with different ages and marital status show significant difference oftheir positive personality traits. The soldiers with different gender, education status andwhether the only child of family show significant difference on integrity dimension, butnot significant different in total. The soldiers with different title show significant difference on intelligence dimension, but also not significant different in total.(5)On the whole, the status of resilience for soldiers is at a higher level. The familycohesion dimension get the highest score.(6)The correlation analysis show there is a significant correlation between positivepersonality traits and resilience.(7)The integrity and tenacity dimensions of positive personality traits of soldiers canpositively predict the status of resilience.
