As an important force both in university’s ideological and political education, and in undergraduates’ daily management, college student cadres are special groups among undergraduates. They are students, as well as cadres. They have to finish academic tasks, get engage in different activities, while at the same time, they have to bear abundant social work. These cadres’ mental health is directly relevant to the efficiency and quality of college students’ administration.Based on the review of domestic and foreign literatures about frustration tolerance, this study combined methods of open-ended questionnaire, expert advice and so on, put forward a theoretical hypothesis of undergraduates’ frustration tolerance, and formed a questionnaire of undergraduates’ frustration tolerance. With item analysis and factor analysis testing its reliability and validity, the question turned out to be good in reliability and validity, which means that the questionnaire can be used to measure undergraduates’ frustration tolerance.College student cadres were invested with this frustration tolerance questionnaire and College Student Positive Character Scale. This study discussed the current situation and characteristics of college student cadres’ frustration tolerance, analyzed the relationship of frustration tolerance on variables of gender, grades, source place, only-child or not, and student-cadre or not, and its relationship with positive traits of personality. Finally, this study came up with several strategies to improve college student cadres’ frustration tolerance from positive psychology, so that colleges could do better in cultivating student cadres, so as to provide reference for student cadres’ cultivation mechanism.Conclusions of this study:(1) College student cadres’ frustration tolerance is a multi-dimension structural system, it consists of positive cognitive, emotional regulation, stress reduction, volitional quality and target adjust.(2) The self-complied questionnaire is good in reliability and validity, all indexed meet related psychometric standards.(3) College student cadres’ frustration tolerance is commonly high, above the average level.(4) There were significant difference between college student cadres’ frustration tolerance in aspects of grades and only-child or not. There were no significant differences between college student cadres’ frustration tolerance in aspects of gender and source place.(5) College student cadres’ frustration tolerance was significantly higher than non-cadres.(6) Scores of the aggregate and all the dimensions of college student cadres’ frustration tolerance were significant positive correlated with positive traits of personality. Insistence, leadership, bravery and enthusiasm were positive predictors, while kindness was a negative predictor for frustration tolerance.
