The Study Of Anxiety Problem In Crime And Punishment

This is a paper that reseaches Dostoyevsky’s novel Crime and Punishment from the angle of anxiety. The paper takes anxiety as the core clue; takes text reading in details as the main method; takes psychology and the moral level of anxiety, existential anxiety and anxiety dispel as the main venation; takes Freud’s psychological analysis theory and the theory of existentialism as the theory basis. It also combines anxiety with reality, reason, and faith which Dostoevsky closely cares about in his own creation in the background of Russia spiritual culture and Eastern orthodox.Basing on the above, this paper analyzes the concrete manifestation and main content of anxiety in the novel, with explaining the meaning of anxiety and how to dispel it.In the opinion of paper, there are a lot of topics of anxiety in Crime and Punishment, two directions of anxiety appeared:one as phenomenon and one as problem. For the first one, the paper analyzes the dream and illusion as well as the action and expression of the character to show the metal anxiey,"to reveal the coflicts between id and superego, then extend to discuss the content of moral anxiety. For the second one, the paper mainly combines the anxiety with the problem of reality, reason and faith to which the writer paid close attention. This part also probes into the concepts of evil, freedom and nothingness, making the exploration of anxiety from the surface deep into the existing problem.
