The Silk Slips Of Tongjia Characters Dictionary Phonological Research

A Dictionary of the Interchangeable Characters in Bamboo Slips and Books copied on Silk compiled by Mr. Baiyulan is a reference book for its readers understanding the interchangeable characters in Chu’s bamboo slips and silk books. This Dictionary is a compilation of the interchangeable characters which had been found out of the Chu’s bamboo slips and silk books.The materials have came from the Chu’s silk books, Xinyang bamboo slips, Guodian bamboo slips,Jiudian bamboo slips and Shangbo bamboo slips.My article would like to look this dictionary as the research abject. The investigative perspective is the phonology. The object is to arrange and count the1547pairs of the interchangeable characters and the3094interchangeable appearances. The article has arranged the initials, finals, tones respectively in order to explore the phonic features of the Chu dialect in the Warring States.This article has five chapters.The first part is introduction.This part mostly introduces the research overview of the previous, the research material of this article, the research procedures and the research methods.The first, second and third chapters are the main parts of this article.The first chapter is the research of the initials. In this chapter, I will statistically analyze the labial,the lingual,the dental,the teeth sound and the gottal sound.I has analyzed the interchangeable appearances of the initials, then I can obtain these conclusions:(1)The labial is closed.The labial can rarely interchange with the teeth sound and the dental.(2)Most of the lingual initials can interchange with themselves and with the other lingual initials. The lingual initials can seldom interchange with the other initials of different articulations.(3)The most rare is the interchangeable characters between the dental and the labial.(4) There is only one time that the interchangeable character between the teeth sound and the labial.It has reflected the faraway relation between the teeth sound and the labial to a certain extent.(5)The Ying initial and the Xia initial in the gottal sounds can’t interchanged with the labial. However, the gottal have interchanged with the labial,the lingual, the dental,the teeth sound and the gottal.The second chapter is the research of finals.In this part I has mostly statistically analyzed the Yin finals, the Ru finals and the Yang finals.According to the research of the interchangeable appearances of the finals, I have obtained the conclusions as:(1) The Yin finals seldom interchange with the Yang finals. The most of the interchangeable characters between them are accidental phenomena without phonological relations.(2) The Ru finals interchange with their own finals frequently. It is68.8%in all the interchangeable characters of the Ru finals.In the meantime, the Ru finals seldom interchange with the Yang finals.Except Jue part and Wu part which are belong to the Ru final can seldom interchange with the different finals, the other finals often interchange with its own finals.(3)The Yang finals interchange with its own finals frequently.They seldom interchange with the other different finals. In the meantime, the interchangeable characters between the Yang finals and the different finals are mostly belong to the accidental phenomena without phonological relation. So it can been seen that the Yang finals have the relative closure.The third chapter is the research in tones.In this part Ⅰ have mostly statistically analyzed the level tone, the falling-rising tone, the falling tone and the entering tone. According to the interchangeable appearances of the tones, I have obtained the conclusions as:(1)There are interchangeable appearances between the four tones.(2) The interchangeable appearances between the four tones and the same tones are all belongs to the interchangeable characters which have the phonological relations.(3) Except the interchangeable characters in the same tone, the interchangeable characters between the falling tone and the entering tone, the interchangeable characters between the entering tone and the falling tone are belong to the interchangeable characters have the phonological relation, the others all haven’t the phonological relation.The last chapter is the conclusions, including the comparison between the Research on the Chu’s Dialect Phonological System in the Warring States and the last conclusions of the whole article.
