The wave of economic globalization and regional economicintegration accelerates the course of regional tourism integration. Afterthe competition of scenic spots, tourism lines and tourism cities, regionaltourism has entered a new age of regional competition to coexist withregional cooperation. In this context, water tourism develops rapidly;However, due to the existence of the administrative economy and thenatural flow characteristics of water resources, which results in thedevelopment of water tourism competing problems, one of the mostcritical is the problem of competing mechanisms and models. Therefore,this paper explores the competing mechanisms and patterns ofwater-related tourism on the basis of the Yangtze River Delta,the aim isto apply the mode theory to the practice.This paper will be divided into the following parts:Part one: Based on the analysis of the research background and asynthsis of relative achievements in this field,it gives out a full expositionof the topic’s selecting and the necessity of this study.At the same time,it illustrates the general framework and the methods of this study.Part two: From the concept of the cross-regional water tourismco-cooperation and the basis of clear understanding of thecross-regional water tourism co-cooperation, this paper analyzes itsfeatures. Meanwhile, according to the competing factors ofinter-regional water-related tourism, this paper sums up the five powersto motivate cross-regional water-related tourism competing,, andpoints out a few key points should be noted that implementation ofcompeting. Finally, this paper classifies the mode of inter-regionalwater-related tourism competing.Part three: Confirmed on the basis of inter-regional water-relatedtourism competing mechanism, this paper takes the Yangtze River Delta as an example. After analyzes the conditions of regional watertourism competing, the author divides Yangtze River Delta Watertourism competition into three characterization stages, which is initialembryonic stage、joint development stage、integration enhancingstage and analyzes its features. On this basis, in accordance with thewaters forms, the author analyzes the status quo of rivers, lakes andmarine’s co-cooperation.Part four: From the perspective of the region competing innovation,this paper selects typical three regions of the Yangtze River Delta,together with the competing models, this paper analyzes respectivelyfrom competing based on three aspects of the status quo perspectiveand the innovative development.
