Research On Yuncheng Dialect Grammar

Yuncheng is located in southern of Shanxi Province. Yuncheng dialect belongs toXiezhou section dialect which is a branch of Fenhe section dialect of the centralplains’ Mandarin which is a sub-dialect of the northern dialect. This paper selectscharacteristic reduplicated forms, affixation, and aspectual system of Yuncheng dialectas the research objects. On a basis of synchronic description, the paper contacts therelevant linguistic theory and trys to compare with Mandarin、the other dialectsaround of Yuncheng and other materials for contrast research, attempting tocomprehensively summarize the grammar features and characteristics of Yunchengdialect. This dissertation is composed of4chapters.First chapter: introduction. This part briefly introduces the history and geographyand population of Yuncheng, the phonetic system and related research generalsituation of Yuncheng dialect, the study significance, contents and methods of thispaper.Second chapter: morphology study of Yuncheng dialect. This chapter mainlydiscusses the overlapping form, affix, pronounsm and prepositions of Yunchengdialect. Overlapping is one of the most active word formations of Yuncheng dialectand the reduplication patterns of nouns, adjectives and adverbs are in vast quantity.Overlapped adverb "zhenzhen（真真）"、"taitai（太太）" can denote the degree of themost senior. The affix "Ge" in Yuncheng dialect has informality and dynamic.Third chapter: syntax study of Yuncheng dialect. This chapter mainly discussesYuncheng dialect’s aspectual system and special sentence patterns. The aspectualsystem of the Yuncheng dialect is divided as the following nine ways: perfective、ongoing、persistence、experience、origination、continuing、short-time、attempt、repeating. It mainly describes the grammatical meaning and grammatical feature ofnine aspects and moods. This paper also discusses three structures of Yuncheng dialect:"V+Dong（动）"、"Ba（把）+noun" and "V+A（啊）+neg-V"."Ba（把）+noun"have already been seen in modern Chinese."V+A（啊）+neg-V" is a special positive and negative question sentence of Yuncheng dialect.Forth chapter: conclusion. Summarize the full text. It mainly talks about someunderstanding and thinking about the grammatical characteristics of Yuncheng dialect.At the same time, it puts forward the deficiencies and the problems which need tothink for the future.
