The subject of Ethnomusicology is growing up robustly as a new subject, manyexperts and scholars join the queue of studying it, which is widely recognized by theChinese music scholars. In the course of development, the number of scholarsresearching on Shamanism culture increased gradually, Manchu originated in China’snorthwest region, while the research on Shamanism in Heilongjiang was rare.According to researching the process of Shamanism worship ritual in Ningguta regionof Mudanjiang, the paper attempts to explore the deep thoughts behind the behavior bychoosing some surname as the Shamanism ritual main subject. The paper is entitled “theresearch on the ritual music of Xu Shamanism Ancestor-worship in Ningguta Region”,Manchu surname—Xu in Ningguta region of Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang province ischosen as the research subject; through the theoretical research, field investigation andother means, the roles and functions of music in Shamanism ancestral ritual areexplored; Through the analysis of miracle phenomenons culture connation in cultureinsiders’ brains is digged out, and the intrinsic cultural map is described as well.Based on the information on Xu Manchu in Mudanjiang region and the researchon the overall process of Shamanism Ancestor-worship ritual, with the combination ofpractice and theory, the paper expounds from five points:Part Ⅰ: Summary of Shamanism ancestor-worship ceremony. Based on researchingthe history of the Shamanism, the development process of the ancestor-worshipceremony is traced back, and the status quo of the Shamanism ancestor-worshipceremony in Mudanjiang area is also acknowledged.Part Ⅱ: Ethnography of Xu ancestor-worship ceremony in Mudanjiang. From thepreparation, the process and the end of ancestor-worship and so on, sum up thebackground of Zhao Shamanism worship ritual. Through he used artifacts in theShamanism worship ritual and preservation of ralated items in the worship ritual, theheritage of Manchu Shamanism is explored.Part Ⅲ: Musical analysis in Xu Shamanism worship ritual in Mudanjiang region.Started with the use of music and music patterns (including melodies, rhythm etc) in XuShamanism worship ritual, analyze the music in Xu Shamanism worship ritual.Part Ⅳ: The biggest characteristic of Xu is the miracle phenomenons, whichexplore the ideology and behavior of Xu, and whose forming experience brings aboutthe influence of worship ritual from the value and the significance of the miraclephenomenons. Part Ⅴ: Musical and cultural interpretation in Xu’s miracle phenomenons. Sortingout and synthesizing the material collected through field investigation and data obtainedthrough book search and web search, according to analysis and comparison, the authorpreliminarily inquiries the unique cultural value behind these music phenomenon, andthen explore deeper social connotation. This section focuses on roles the music play inworship ritual and researches of ideological level and aspects of the soul concept of theinsiders.
