In recent years the development of relationship between China and Thailand in the field of politics, economy and culture boosts needs for Chinese talents in Thailand; therefore, many universities start to establish Chinese language profession and shoulder the task to cultivate high level Chinese talents. Equip students with excellent Chinese communication skill as well as Chinese culture knowledge by culture education, which is taken as the talent cultivating objective for Chinese language profession in Thailand.The main approach to Chinese culture education is to set up Chinese culture curriculum which occupies an important position in Chinese language professional curriculum system of Thailand. This thesis reflects the real situation of "Chinese culture teaching" in Thailand through investigating Chinese culture course setting and teaching status of five universities located at Bangkok including Chulalongkorn University, Thammasat University, Kasetsart University, Srinakharinwirot University and Ramkhamhaeng University. Moreover, on the basis of relevant theories and investigating results this paper analyses advantages, unique features of Chinese teaching situation in this five universities and comes up with some improvement strategies the disadvantages reflecting in the investigation.In recent years the development of relationship between China and Thailand in the field of politics, economy and culture boosts needs for Chinese talents in Thailand; therefore, many universities start to establish Chinese language profession and shoulder the task to cultivate high level Chinese talents. The study finds that Chinese culture courses in five universities are different in amount, style and characteristic, but some courses need definite teaching objective and a more scientific course construction, therefore, optimizing the Chinese culture course setting system is an urgent need in Thailand university Chinese culture education. On the other hand, though the present class teaching of culture courses satisfies students’basic needs and obtains their confirmation, problems such as insufficient teacher resources, humdrum teaching style, substandard class language and students’lacking of autonomous learning ability still exist, for which the paper suggests to optimize course setting, strengthen teacher resources, improve teaching methods and cultivate student’ autonomous learning ability in order to improve the effects of culture teaching.Under the general background of international Chinese teaching, there are two points of value in this thesis:firstly, the current culture teaching situation descriptions in Thailand universities provide researchers with study material on talents cultivating mode and culture teaching situation of Chinese language profession in Thailand universities; secondly, strategies ameliorating current culture teaching defects have certain reference value in promoting Chinese culture teaching in Thailand.
