Intermediate Chinese is a nexus in the process of studying SpokenChinese.It’s the key time that learner reaches real Spoken Chinese. ButCompared the require of this course, learner’s level is low.With thedevelopment of multimedia, using multimedia to improvecommunication environment and study efficiency, inspirecommunication desire and counsel the learner after class is essential.With the basis of previous study, we create a questionnaire about classsituation and study strategy of Spoken Chinese and we find that theopportunities of speaking Chinese are unbalance in the SpokenChinese class, after class, time for studying Chinese is limited andfrequency to using Chinese is low. We take advantage of cognitivepsychology and fruits of multimedia and MTCSOL research as theorybasis, take a lesson of Intermediate Spoken Chinese Ⅰfrom ChineseScenery series as an example and use software Flash creating acourseware about Intermediate Spoken Chinese. We propose5suggestions which is modular design of courseware, teachingknowledge with multimedia information, dialoguing in a due context,paying attention to expression of long segment and encouragingstudying Spoken Chinese after class. We hope these proposals can givea reference to multimedia courseware creating.The main thesis is divided into five chapters.The first chapter casts light on the significance of the subject,defines the object of study, and reviews on current research. The second chapter casts light on the method of research and toolof research.Chapter Ⅲ is a data analysis which is concentrate in class situationand study strategy of Spoken Chinese.Chapter Ⅳ creates a multimedia courseware and proposes5suggestions which is modular design of courseware, teachingknowledge with multimedia information, dialoguing in a due context,paying attention to expression of long segment and encouragingstudying Spoken Chinese after class.Chapter Ⅴ compares the model of paper designed coursewarewith other2types of often used courseware model.Chapter VI is a conclusion, in which the shortcoming of this thesisand the prospect for possible future research is mentioned.
