Research On Speech Of Guo Moruo During The War Of Resistance Against Japan

Guo Moruo is not only a famous writer, historian, social activist, but also an outstanding speaker. During the war of resistance against Japan, Guo Moruo returned from overseas to join the Anti-Japanese national salvation. He has done hundreds of wonderful speeches in the period.Unfortunately,there is no person to conduct a comprehensive, in-depth excavation to form a systematic research. This article is the first one to devoted to studying Guo Moruo’s speech during the war of resistance against Japan. As an opportunity,the artcle will be pointed this academic weak to hope to provide some reference about someone studies Guo Moruo comprehensively, play a certain positive role about enriching and deepening the study of Guo Moruo, and cause us to attend to Chinese modern writers’speech research.The full text is divided into four chapters, and accompanied by the author for a "speech chronology of Guo Moruo during the war of resistance against Japan".The first chapter is in chronological order to speech activities of Guo Moruo during the war of resistance against Japan to review and summarize. According to life experiences and events of Guo Moruo during the war of resistance against Japan, the speech activities of Guo Moruo during the war of resistance against Japan are divided into four stages:the initial stage of the war, the Third period, the Culture Working Committee, the victory early of the Anti-Japanese War period.The artcle reviews and reproduces every phase of Guo Moruo’s speech activities. The main content of Guo Moruo’s speech during the war of resistance against Japan is summarized and described in the second chapter. The content of Guo Moruo’s speech during the war of resistance against Japan is diverse,so academy has not carried on the systematic classification.Therefore, the author’s analysis about the problem for mobilization, the enemy situation, the wartime culture problem, the struggle for democracy question four aspects is based on the content of Guo Moruo’s speech and the mainstream principles during the war of resistance against Japan.In every aspect of the speech, focuses on the analysis of content, characteristics and contribution, to show the style and features of Guo Moruo’s speech.The third chapter is used to analyse art characteristics of Guo Moruo’s speech during the war of resistance against Japan.Combined with the specific speech, this paper discusses three aspects about artistry of Guo Moruo’s speech to conclude and summarize the artistic features. Firstly,both emotion and reason style. This is Guo Moruo’s speaking style, and it is the most important factor of speech which is achieved success;Secondly, novel and pertinent reasoning. Guo Moruo changes the traditional boring reasoning form, and he uses the rhetorical devices of metaphor and parallelism, interspersing with stories and poems to make speech vivid and interesting,and to make the audience feel everything fresh and new, so speech effect is enhanced strongly;Thirdly, plain and smooth language. Guo Moruo’s speaking language is plain. He not only pay attention to the speaking language that is easy to understand, but also pursure to the logic of language, so that the audience can understand the content of his speech clearly, and make speech have a due effect.The fourth chapter is focused on the analysis and discussion of the influence of Guo Moruo’s speech. Guo Moruo’s speech with abundant and profound thought and unique artistry made compatriot moved.Besides, because of his high social prestige, so the speech had won a wide response and made outstanding contributions to the propaganda and mobilization work. Due to Guo Moruo’s speech had brought extensive and complicated influence, and therefore the author uses to catch the mainstream principles and five important aspects of speech activities as the starting point to reduce and expound Guo Moruo’s speech effect and to try to show historical events, in order to enable researchers to grasp the original history intuitively. The appendix is a "speech chronology of Guo Moruo during the war of resistance against Japan" made by the author, and the chronology embodys Guo Moruo’s speech recorded so far during the war of resistance against Japan, marking the speech time and place.
