With the development of the industrial society to a certain extent, corporatesafety issues and benefits have become the most important factors that influence andrestrain the sustainable development of an enterprise. Researchers found that humanfactors played a bigger role when production technology was less likely to beimproved. As a consequence, numerous researchers entered the field of safety culture.On the basis of reviewing substantial literature, the present study proposed amodel of corporate safety culture and investigated the impacts that different levels ofcorporate safety culture have on safety performance, as well as the mechanism of howculture influences performance.870questionnaires were distributed among30organizations in30large-scale enterprises.763valid questionnaires have beencollected which are87.7%of the total. Hypothesizes have been tested using structuralequation model and hierarchical linear model and following conclusions have beendrawn:(1) corporate safety culture is an onion-structured model, including safety value,safety management system and safety artifact from inside to outside.(2) corporate safety performance consists of two parts which are employee safetybehavior at the individual level and objective safety performance rates.(3) The three levels of enterprise safety culture all have positive effects on safetyperformance, especially safety management system.(4) The relationship between two of the levels including safety value and safetymanagement system and employee safety behavior is partly mediated by LMX(5) The relationship between all the three levels (safety value, safely managementsystem and safety artifact) and employee safety behavior is partly mediated byorganizational identification.
