George F. Handel (1685-1759) was one of the greatest baroque musicians.Amongst the32Oratorios, Messiah is the most renown, which is eternal classic ofthe baroque music. Since the Baroque Period, it has been performed all the time.This thesis, based on the relevant literature and audio data, offers acomprehensive description of Messiah’s writing background and artistic significance.Meanwhile, the five baritone arias are carefully and profoundly analyzed from theobjective to the microcosmic method, and from the whole to the specific work inorder thus to supply the singling skills with theoretical guidance.
