Research Of Language Policy Based On Several Language Accidents

This paper will discuss a series of language Accidents happened in recent years,such as Lettered-Word event,Zhao C event, Brace Cantonese event, Li Gang event,etc.We analyze its nature,causes, levels, peculiarity andpatterns of manifestation. Finally, this paper analyzes the influence,motivation and effect of language policy onLanguage Accidents.Based on the theory of Language Policy,language laws and Communication Studies,this paper adopt bothinductive and conductive method and case analysis to study the language Accidents caused by society.Through several specific case analysis, we got further study on motive and effect of the language policy aboutthe language Accidents.This survey found that language policy plays an important role in these language Accidents, they are shaped, tosome extent,by Language practice, language belief and dual character of language management. Aiming atthese problems, we argue that we can avoid the similar problems through the following aspects. First of all, weshould establish the emergency management system. For instance,establishing the emergency plan and makesure of a quick start after the event happened. Determining the plan’s level according to the event level, andpaying great attention to the coordination between departments, improving the public opinion analysis,broadcasting by legal means and making sure of timely transparent of information.Secondly, the establishmentof the language policy should be warning and prospective, conform to the laws of language development.Weshould strengthen the publicity about language policy, change the way of publicity, and give the publicindependent option, also respecting the cultural diversity and timely absorbing linguists’ accomplishments.Thirdly, we should strengthen the supervision of the media to formulate relevant language policy in view of itsdevelopment in new period, and use the right way to guide the public opinions of media.
