With the recent Thailand’s “Chinese fever”, Chinese has being been more and morepopular in Thailand. Chinese teaching is paid great attention by Thailand Royalty andgovernment, mean while, Chinese government has given strong support and assistance tothe Thailand Chinese teaching. Hanban has sent Chinese volunteer teachers from2001. Itis my great honor as being a member of the tenth of volunteers worked in ThailandRajchamangala University of Technology Isan Khon Kaen from June2011to March2012.In the period of teaching, the author has fully felt the enthusiasm of Thai studentsstudying Chinese, but there are some disadvantages are existed in the Thailand Chineseteaching system, teachers, and curriculum setting, and these disadvantages more and morebecome the bottleneck that will limit the development of Chinese teaching in Thailand.Even though the classroom teaching has provided certain senses, it is not enough for thetraining of communication ability. The students only have got not enough communicationability in the classroom.This paper has made Khon Kaen of Thailand as an example. On the basis of previousstudies on Chinese teaching, the author firstly analyzes the present situation of Chineseteaching in Khon Kaen. And the author puts forward the communicative classroomteaching design, and then practices it. In the end of this paper, the author analyses theresult of the survey and makes some practical suggestions for the communicative activitydesign of Chinese teaching.
