The special pattern occupies an important position in modern Chinese studies. Basentence pattern and Bei sentence pattern are the most usual special patterns. Eventhough You sentence pattern is also an important special pattern, but so far, the researchon it is relatively few. This article selected You sentence pattern to do a comprehensiveanalysis and description under the guidance of three-dimensional grammar, valencegrammar, speech act theory, images schema theory and spatial metaphor theory.This article includes an introduction and five chapters. The introduction describesthe definition of You sentence pattern, the meaning and value of this study, the syntaxtheories and research ideas used in this article as well as the corpus source. The firstchapter gives a general idea about the research had done by other scholars in the past,summarizing the results already achieved and the lack of research. The second chapteranalyzes the sentence structure in You sentence pattern. Based on the summary ofparaphrases from different dictionaries, we summarized that there are8kinds of Yousentence pattern. Depending on the type of predicate phrases, we divide You sentencepattern’s sentence structure. In Chapter Ⅲ, on the basis of classification of verbs using inthe typical You sentence pattern, we summed up several simple sentence modelsincluding two main cases in which objects are as the moving element and adverbialelement. In Chapter Ⅳ, we investigated You sentence pattern’s pragmatic functionsincluding assertion, instruction, commitment and expression of four kinds, amongwhich assertion plays as the main function. Chapter Ⅴ summed up one spatialparaphrase and several metaphorical meanings on the basis of defining the principlemeaning, and descript the path to the metaphorical meanings.
