English paper commenting class is an important and common class type in Senior English teaching, especially in the unit summary and examination review stages. Teachers could analyze the existing problems of the test, help students correct mistakes and consolidate knowledge by paper commenting. So they can be definite about the existing problems and future endeavors. But the English paper commenting class in current is always the mode of teachers’monologue. It doesn’t reflect the student-centered, teacher-led class teaching fully. So New English Curriculum standard promulgated by Ministry of Education in2001suggests that teachers should avoid using methods of simply passing on knowledge of language, but should try to use Task-based Teaching approach...students learn and use English to complete learning tasks by thinking, research, discussion, exchange and cooperation, etc. Although the academia has been advocating task-based teaching, relatively it is practiced and researched very little and not adequately in senior middle school English paper commenting, which is more employed in reading and writing.In light of this, the author does the experiment of task-based teaching in English paper commenting according to the theoretical framework in senior middle school. And it is aimed at testing whether it is suitable in senior middle school, whether this teaching can help stimulate students’interest in learning, enhance their learning self-confidence, and improve their learning ability. Before the experiment, the author tested the English of100students from Senior Two in two parallel classes. The tests showed that the students’learning motivation, self-confidence and ability are all positive in the experimental class. It showed that task-based teaching can help stimulate the students’interest in learning, enhance their self-confidence, and improve their learning ability. At the same time, task-based teaching in English paper commenting made the teacher come out from the single authoritative mode of teaching, and freed the students from passive learning. The teacher in paper commenting reached a new teaching level, and it also made the students develop towards initiative and creative learning healthily.But task-based teaching in paper commenting has some shortcomings, for example, the teachers’knowledge accumulation and the ability to manage the classroom are different, therefore the quantity finished during an unit of time may be affected and it may take a lot of time for students to complete a task. English Teachers need to continuously explore, summarize and regularize in the future practice, and make task-based teaching in paper commenting full of more vitality and vigor.
