Based on the requirements of the new curriculum reform,the characteristics of the teaching materials in Advance with English and the specific circumstances of the school,this study is intended to explore three questions when carrying out the approach of TBLT in Project.1)How do teachers apply the theory of TBLT to Project teaching effectively?2)What effect will the application of TBLT in Project have on students' learning?3)What will affect the application of TBLT in Project?After a one-year experiment in two parallel classes,the following conclusions are obtained through questionnaires,interviews and the end-of-term test.1)To apply TBLT effectively,teachers have to balance the activity of language input and output,that is,to balance the teaching activities of part A and B.Besides,tasks should be designed according to the students' learning ability and experience,in order to ensure the authenticity and appropriateness of' the task.What's more,it is necessary to organize and arrange the activities of the group reasonably,which gurantees the completion of the task.Plus,students' behavior should be assessed with relevant project learning evaluation scale tables.2)The application of TBLT in Project has a certain impact on the learning of senior high school students.In the field of learning interest,although there is no obvious change in learning motivation,the students' preference for English language and culture increases.In class performance,students' willingness to answer questions is enhanced and the concentration of class is higher.In learning strategy,students' habit of self-study is being developed.In terms of academic achievements,students think their achievements and oral proficiency have improved.And in the end-of-term test,the ability of the experimental class students to use the language is better than the control class.3)There are many factors affecting the application of TBLT in Project.Students' ability to use language in a comprehensive way is the basis of the implementation of TBLT,and the students' learning motivation also affects the teaching effect.In addition,tachers'language ability,teaching experience and the understanding of TBLT all affect the implementation of the teaching.Moreover,large class teaching,exam oriented education and evaluation methods also have an impact on teaching effect.Consequently,there are some pedagogical implications.First,teachers have to improve their language competence and class management ability,which are the key to a successful class.Second,teachers have to keep learning the theory of TBLT and apply it to practice,which is good for the development of students and teachers.
