As the economical globalization and multicultural communication develop,English is becoming more and more important as a tool of communication all over the world.Writing,as an important part of English learning,is a very significant criteria to evaluate the students' English proficiency.Task-based language teaching(TBLT)was first put forward in 1980 s and it develops fast on the basis of a lot of researches and practices.It is applied in English teaching and emphasizes the application of tasks in the teaching process.At present,there are plenty of studies focused on TBLT,but many are focused on the fields of listening,speaking and reading and only a few are focused on the training of English writing to promote the learners' writing interest and ability.This research,tentatively reporting and analyzing the change of the students' English writing level and attitude to it after the application of TBLT,displays both theoretical and practical significance.The author conducts an experiment on TBLT in English writing teaching in Shangcai Senior High School in Zhumadian district,Henan Province.It was conducted in two classes in which there are 80 students each.They are two ordinary classes of which the students have the same English level.The author herself teaches the two classes English and the experiment period lasts for a whole semester.In the experimental class,the author teaches them English writing with TBLT while in the control class traditional method is used.After the whole semester's experiment,the author finds that:Compared with the traditional way of English writing teaching,TBLT can promote the students' writing proficiency,promote the students' writing interest and motivation,and cultivate the students' ability of problem solving and awareness of cooperation.So it is very important to help the students realize the importance of writing and motivate their interest in writing.Meanwhile the application of TBLT in English writing teaching can help improve the relationship between teachers and students as well as the relationship among the students.The last but not least benefit of the application of TBLT in English writing teaching is that it can help improve the quality of the high school English teaching and help reduce the teachers' workload.The author conducts this experiment in the high school English writing teaching,expecting that this research can give some help in improving the high school English writing teaching efficiency with the TBLT method.Therefore,the author tries to show how to effectively use the TBLT method in high school English writing teaching,giving effective suggestions to solve the problems in the English writing teaching.
