In recent years, the study on personality structure of different culture was extremely noticed by researches of many countries. Compared with researches in adult personality structure, the number of junior middle school students’structure studies is relatively small. Former researches on adolescent personality structure did not get rid of adult personality structure’s influences. So the result of these researches may not be accurate enough. The research will be carried on the base of entire Chinese culture, developing a rating questionnaire for evaluating personality of Chinese junior middle school students personality structure and analyze the characteristic of children’personality development.Study1:Adjectives suitable for represent junior middle school students’personality were collected through free description (including self-description, peer description, teachers description and parents description) and selection of Wang DengFeng’s adults word sets. Qualitative research methods were used to exploring the descriptive structure of junior middle school students. The results shows that the descriptive personality structure of junior middle school students are made of5broad demarcations,17attributes and53specific traits. Qualitative research provided theory of structure for empirical study of junior middle school students’ personality.Study2:According the descriptive structure of junior middle school students provided by the qualitative research, combining Open-ended questionnaires and interviews, a questionnaire of personality of Chinese junior middle school students were made in this study. By experts’rating, item-analyzing, explorative and confirmative factor analysis, the Chinese junior middle school students’personality structure of self-rating were established and the personality scale of junior middle school students were developed. The Hierarchical Structure are consisted by5dimensions which are Pro-socialism, Intelligent Features, Self-control, Extraversion and Emotional Stability and17traits. Then we verify the reliability and validity of the questionnaire.Study3:Statistical analysis is conducted on the data collected by junior middle school students’personality questionnaire. And the general personality development characteristics of junior middle school students are explored. The study found that there are significant grade differences on the dimension of Self-control and Emotional Stability. There are not significant grade differences on the other three dimensions. In the five dimensions of the overall trend the development of junior middle school students’personality is relatively stable. But the second grade is a turning point, which is all the5dimensions have a slight decline on the second grade, after the2grade, all five dimensions rise slowly. Girls’scores in the pro-social, self-control and Emotional stability were significantly higher than boys. Extraversion in the characteristics and dimensions of intelligence there is no gender difference. Junior middle school grade and gender on the interaction of character development was not significant. There are no significant sex differences on the last two dimensions. We did not find any significant interaction between sex and grade.
