With the development and popularization of the internet, it has been a necessary skill for translators to translate with the help of the internet. However, the good and the bad are intermingled on the internet. Therefore, it has become an important topic how translators search for the right information among the enormous resources and how they can improve the quality and efficiency of translation with the help of the internet. In this paper, the writer summarizes the basic searching skills on the Internet. For example we can find what we need more quickly and more precisely if Boolean operators are used while translating, and if necessary, senior searching can be used together. While we translate proper nouns, the internet can not only help us to get genuine translation, also it can provide lots of relative information. For translating some difficult phrases, asterisk wildcard is a useful tool, and induced words can make our translation more efficient. In addition, we can also use Domain Names, such as the ones ended with.us, to check if our translation is genuine, because most of these names are used by American natives. Of course their language should be standard American English. However, translators should remember that the internet serves only as a tool. While translating we should consider the real situation. Completely relying on the internet is not acceptable.
