The Research Of The Drama Murals In Oing Dynasty’s,Nianbadu Town In Jiangshan City Of Zhejiang Province

In the splendid cultural treasure of Zhejiang folk arts, ancient opera murals are one kind of the most characteristic, rarest and the most precious intangible cultural heritage. The author has carried out lots of systematic investigation and research on opera murals of the Qing Dynasty in Shuixing Temple and Wenchang Palace. Nianbadu Town, Jiangshan City, Zhejiang Province. It is found that there are still more than430murals of the Tongzhi and Xuantong years of the Qing Dynasty in Nianbadu Town with prosperous trade and business, glamorized temples and theatrical troupes previously. According to detailed investigation and in-depth study, and research of Zhejiang Wu opera etc. the author finds that besides Taoism murals,"twenty-four filial piety" murals and landscape murals etc, Zhejiang has more than40Wu opera murals, among which, about20are opera story murals of Wenchang Palace and about20are theater stage and caisson opera murals of Shuixing Temple. These opera murals truly represent the wonderful moments of former artists playing widely known operas on the stage, and have distinct and unique national folk aesthetics characteristics and rich local characteristics, and provide convincing solid evidence for study on opera murals of Zhejiang folk arts. Zhejiang is the birthplace of Chinese operas (southern opera). Wu opera is one kind of the most ancient operas of Zhejiang Province, and is known as the living fossil of the ancient southern opera. Wu opera has a history of more than400years, including six tunes of Gaoqiang. kun opera. Luantan. Hui Opera. Tanhuang and tanka etc. Wu opera is popular in Zhejiang Jinhua (Wuzhou) and Jiangshan. the northeast of Jiangxi and the northwest of Fujian etc. In February2008, Wu opera was included in the second batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritage List by the Ministry of Culture of the State Council. It’s worth mentioning that Kun opera of Wu opera also became a part of the World Intangible Heritage (China Kun opera) on May18,2001. Therefore, original academic researches of opera murals of the Qing Dynasty in Nianbadu Town, Jiangshan City are of very important significance. The author tries to carry out scientific research and interpretation of opera story murals of Wenchang Palace and theater stage and caisson opera murals of Shuixing Temple in Nianbadu Town of Jiangshan City in the way combined with investigation and description, and makes an in-depth study of the aesthetic value of opera murals of Nianbadu Town. The aesthetic characteristics could be summarized as follows:"exquisite composition, refined lines, virtual contrast, stage portraiture, nice colors, the very image of the body and the spirit". This paper also carries out a comparative study in terms of "south, north, east and west" of domestic surviving opera murals, such as the Yuan’s miscellaneous drama and opera murals of Mingyingwang Palace in Hongdong, Shanxi Province, opera murals of Beijing Jingzhong Temple and Xishen Palace, Sichuan opera murals of Yuquan Temple in Mianyang City. Sichuan Province etc. Thus, determine the status and role of the Qing’s folk opera murals in Nianbadu Town, Jiangshan City, Zhejiang Province in Chinese folk arts, and establish the irreplaceable heritage value. This paper could be attached great importance to by the Ministry of Culture and local government to protect and inherit this very valuable intangible cultural heritage. Also, this paper could be applied to and serve for folk art education of art colleges, promote local tourism industry and cultural and creative industry, and make contributions, and play its application value fully.
