A Study Upon Nianbadu "zhengzi" Of Jiangshan City From A Perspective Of Language Contact

Located at the southwest of Jiangshan City,Zhejiang Province,Nianbadu is an ancient town adjacent to provinces of Zhejiang,Fujian and Jiangxi.Besides,in Nianbadu,dozens of dialects are available.To be specific,Nianbadu Town is divided into five major areas in which official language;Wu Chinese,Hokkien,Gan Chinese and Hakka are respectively spoken as the popular dialect.However,among all the dialects,“Zhengzi”,whose phonetics,vocabularies and grammars are roughly the same as that of Mandarin while some words of whose is also similar to that of Wu Chinese spoken around Nianbadu,is the most popular one with more speakers.In other words,the so-called “Zhengzi”,namely Nianbadu dialect,is the common language of the local areas.Both the people of the countryside nearby and those of Ninabadu Town communicate with one another in “Zhengzi”.Based on filed surveys and guided by linguistic theories,a record of and an analysis of the phonetics,words and grammars of Nianbadu “Zhengzi”,Wu Chinese spoken in nearby areas as well as Mandarin are made through ways of synchronic descriptions and historical comparisons in this article.Besides,a key comparison among differences of Nianbadu“Zhengzi”,the nearby Wu dialect and Mandarin is also given.What's more,a conclusion about the characteristics of Dialect Island of Nianbadu is drawn while a discussion about the changing processes of the Dialect Island can also be found in this article.This article totally consists of five chapters.The first chapter is about the introduction.Specifically speaking,both a brief introduction about the geological and cultural conditions of Nianbadu and a main introduction about the current research conditions of Nianbadu “Zhengzi” are made in this chapter.In addition,a key introduction about the research methods adopted in this article as well as the purpose and significance of choosing such a title for this article can also be found in this part.The second chapter is about the phonetic systems and characteristics of words of Nianbadu “Zhengzi”.The third chapter is about the grammars of “Zhengzi”.In other words,a main introduction about the morphology and syntax of Nianbadu “Zhengzi”is given in this chapter.The fourth chapter is about a comparison of and a study upon“Zhengzi” from a perspective of language contact.Regarding the last part,it is a conclusion of the whole dissertation.
