Study On The Comparison Between Frequency Adverbs "buting" And "buduan" In Modern Chinese

The article compares the frequency adverb "buting" and "buduan"From threeaspects: Syntactic features, semantic features, pragmatic features.（1）syntactic aspectsFirstly，the co-occurrence problems between "buting""buduan" and auxiliaryverbs"le""zhe""guo"are studied,and finding that the co-occurrence rate of"buting""buduan"and the auxiliary verbs"le""guo" are essentially flat the co-occurrence rateof"buting"and the auxiliary verbs"zhe"is higher than"buduan".Secondly,having aresearch in the co-occurrence problems between "buting""buduan"and"de",theco-occurrence rate of"buting"and"de"is higher than "buduan".Finally,theco-occurrence problems between "buting""buduan"and the verbs areinvestigated,according to the verb classification from Guo Rui,the author has aresearch in"buting""buduan"and all kinds of verb co-occurrence problems,findingthat "buting""buduan"cannot concur with stative verb,but can modify motional verbsand verbs.At the aspect of time characteristics, doing a research from Internal events andexternal time resolution. at the aspect of traffic characteristics, the frequency of"buting" is higher than “buduan”.（2）Semantic featuresFrom the dictionary meaning，"buting"means non-stop and constantly,"buduan"means time after time, one by one. From the angle of semantic analysis, thetwo adverbs "buduan" and "buting" can express actions、behavior、the high occurrencenumber of events、high frequency、large amount. But "buduan"and "buting" havedifferencesBetween frequency difference、Semantic color difference and the modification of theaction.(3) Pragmatic sideWe analyze from two angle. Firstly, the choices of the sentence categories between "buting"and "buduan"are studied, finding that "buting " and “buduan" canappear in the declarative sentences and special interrogative sentences, but theycannot be used in the exclamatory and imperative sentences. Secondly, we have aresearch in the choices of the sentence states between "buting"and "buduan", they canappear in the the main dynamic sentences, as the choices of verbs are different, thesemantics that sentences show are variant."buting"and"buduan" can be used in thepassive sentences, but the modified ingredients must be already state.Lastly,the stylistic choices of the sentences between"buting"and "buduan" arestudied. By examining the corpus and classification statistics,we conclude that: theusage rate of "buting"is higher than "buduan" both in the colloquial styles andliterature and art styles; They all have a certain proportion in science and technologystyles, but "buduan" has a higher usage rate than "buting". In the official affairs stylesand mass communication styles,"buduan" has an obvious advantage about theusage rate compared with "buting"...
