| With the growing diversity of entertainment media, bestsellers have developed into an independent form of mass culture. As an important type of bestsellers, best-selling novels are exposed to a wide readership and their circulation is not restricted in only one country or area. Therefore, the translating quality of best-selling novels is of great significance. By taking the translation of the first two chapters in Spring Collection as an example, this paper reveals the challenges in the E-C translation of this best-selling novel, i.e. lexical accuracy, sentence restructuring, and aesthetic equivalence, as well as the basic approaches and techniques to tackling these difficulties. |
