Objective:In this study the new enrolled students from2011Class atJilin Medical College were chosen as research subjects. The psychologyHealth state and its influential factors of medical students were analyzed. Theresults and reasons of psychological problems were also explored. It is provides helpful reference to improve the mental health of the college students.Methods: The symptom checklist (SCL-90) and some basic informationquestionnaire were applied to investigate psychological information of2097freshmen.Software from XinHai Technology Company was used in human-computer interactionmanner. After data were inputted to Excel database, the differences were analyzed bychi-square test, means significant test, for each factor level Kruskal-Wallis Test ranksum test.Results:1. Medical freshmen’ scores of8factors in somatization, compulsions,interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, hostilities, terror, psychic syndromewere significantly higher than nationwide peer SCL.105students showed obviouspsychological problems, accounting for5.01%, and their major problems lied incompulsions and interpersonal sensitivity.2. SCL-90results showed that the total score and somatization, depression,anxiety and terror in females were higher than those in males. Three-year-termstudents were higher than undergraduates in the anxiety and terror. The minoritystudents were higher than han students in total score and somatization, compulsions,depression, hostilities, crankiness, psychic syndrome. The rural students were higherthan city students in total score and compulsions, sensitivity in relationships,depression, crankiness, psychic syndrome. The non only child had higher score thanonly child in total score and somatization, sensitivity in relationships, depression,anxiety and terror. And students alone are higher than active and passivecommunicators in the same index. The students with non natural father were higher than peers with biological father in sensitivity in relationships and paranoid score. Thestudents with father has low educational degree were higher than their peers whosefather had high educational degree in total score and compulsions, sensitivity inrelationships, depression, anxiety, horror, psychic syndrome.The students with fatherwho were worker, farmer had high score than their peers whose father wereintellectuals, cadres and freelancer in the score of total score, compulsions, sensitivityin relationships, depression, horror and psychic syndrome.3. Logistic analysis revealed that some main factors influenced college studentsmental health was peer contact.Conclusions: Medical freshmen’ scores of8factors in somatization,compulsions, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, hostilities, terror, psychicsyndrome are significantly higher than nationwide peer SCL, with the relevance ratio5.01%. It is necessary to put emphasis on psychological health of freshmen in medicalcollege. We should create a nice environment for the growth of students, and improveawareness of prevention and care by constructing the mental health care network,expanding the family education space, developing characteristic activities ofpsychological health, establishing psychological counseling center and carrying outrich and useful activities.
