From its rising, development and growth, translation has run through thedevelopment of human civilization. Till the21stcentury, texts of different types areinvolved in translation and translation is thriving nowadays. With the deepening ofeconomics globalization, various kinds of talents in a country are emerging one afteranother. Therefore, biography translation has gained more attention in recent years.However, how to do well in biography translation has undoubtedly become a greatchallenge that a translator faces. In order to translate biographical articles skillfullyand properly, translators must know the features of such articles. When translating,translators not only should make the translation faithful to the source text, but alsoshould be guided by translation theory and skillfully apply different kinds oftranslation methods and techniques.This thesis is aimed at analyzing the translation process in light of translationtheory and the translation practices of biographical articles. The findings could beused as a reference for other translators. This essay is based on the translation of thebook Till the End of the World, written by the internationally known badmintonplayer Lin Dan.The first chapter mainly introduces the source text, background and the statusquo of the biographical translation of this book as well as the author. The secondchapter states preparation for a biography translation. The third chapter analyzes indetail the translation methods and techniques applied, problems, solutions andunderstanding in the process of translation. The fourth chapter is the conclusion whichshows the author’s comprehension of this translation practice.
