China enjoys time-honored history of translation with numerous outstandingworks. Against the backdrop of the expanding market demands, increasing peopleare determined to engage in this field. However, the Chinese translation market isstill plagued by many issues, such as the superficial understanding of thetranslation theories, inadequate excellent teachers and the teaching concept thatneeds to be improved. However, the publication of Daniel Gile’s bookBasicConcepts and Models for Interpreter and Translator Training has given freshimpetus to the international translation circles, thus receiving great praise andpopularity among the practitioners. Excerpted from the third chapter of this book,this translation project has expounded on the fidelity of translation from theperspectives of training model of translation and interpretation, the design ofclassroom activities, curriculum arrangement and theories, which eloquentlydemonstrates the successful experience of translation and interpretation from othercountries. In this sense, it is of great guiding significance.The main body of this translation project is divided into four parts, namely,Introduction, Research Background, Translation Difficulties and Methods as wellas the Conclusion. The first part includes the analysis of the project background,objectives and significance; in the second part, the theoretical foundations that arereferred to and the application of the theories in the translation process arepresented; in the third part, the translation difficulties and countermeasures areintroduced; in the fourth part, the author’s experience accumulated from thistranslation project and the issues that need prompt resolution are also proposed. In accordance with the Skopos theory proposed by Hans Vermeer, differenttranslation methods are adopted to vividly and precisely express the thoughts of theoriginal text.
