"V yi xia" is a oral structure which is frequently used in modern Chinese language. But until1980’s, there was a special study on "V yi xia". Now searching papers on "V yi xia" in CNKI, there are about20papers. Although there are not so many research results, they are valuable for teaching Chinese as a second language. The author find that "V yi xia" often appears in teaching materials, so the systematic study on "V yi xia" is very necessary."V yi xia"(including "V yi xia1" and "V yi xia2") is the research object of this paper. Based on the Three-Plane Theory, by using the methods of literature research, corpus analysis and data statistics, in particular by using the corpus of fiction genre in Center for Chinese Linguistics PKU, this paper researched on how to use "V yi xia" on the syntactic, semantic and pragmatic aspects.This paper is divided into six chapters.Chapter one is the introduction, which included significance of the paper, literature review, theoretical basis and research methods.Chapter two is corpus source and selection. This chapter illustrated how this paper determined to select "V yi xia" corpus of fiction genre step by step from simple search to advanced search and how to carry out the first selection and second selection and then sort out the final research corpus.Chapter three is analysis of the syntactic aspect of "V yi xia1" based on corpus. The semantic and pragmatic feature of "V yi xia1" is very clear, that is the action happened once, so the research on "V yi xia1" focused on syntax. Based on corpus statistics, this paper summarized three features of the verbs in "V yi xia1" and26groups of high-frequency verbs in "V yi xia1", which can be used as reference in teaching Chinese.Chapter four is analysis of the syntactic, semantic and pragmatic aspects of "V yi xia2" based on corpus, which is the focus content of this paper. The core usage of "V yi xia2" is its semantic and pragmatic. In syntax, based on corpus statistics, this paper summarized78high-frequency verbs in "V yi xia2", which can be used as reference in teaching Chinese. In semantic, the core semantic features of "V yi xia2" are [+lighten] and [+short], and [+lighten] is the most important semantic feature. In pragmatic, the pragmatic functions of "V yi xia2" can be summarized as four types of two principles, which are the embodiment of polite principle "euphemism in imperative" and "relieving accusatory tone" and the embodiment of weakening principle of "weakening evaluation of action’s importance " and "weakening promise".Chapter five is teaching suggestions of "V yi xia". From the perspective of teaching Chinese, based on the syntactic, semantic, pragmatic research conclusions of "V yi xia" and corpus statistics, this chapter summarized the teaching grammar of "V yi xia" and put forward suggestions on what and how to teach "V yi xia".Chapter six is the conclusion, which summarized all the important research conclusions, innovations and deficiencies of this paper.Finally, the author hopes these conclusions about usage futures of "V yi xia" and these teaching grammar and teaching suggestions of "V yi xia" can provide reference and help for the teachers of teaching Chinese as a second language.
