Language has a close tie with culture. It is a broad consensus reached by many scholars in both east and west. In teaching Chinese as a foreign language, the connection becomes more tight and important. Chinese traditional culture teaching is a important part of Chinese foreign teaching, thus Strengthening culture teaching can help promote students’better learning of Chinese. For the significance of culture teaching and its vital position in Chinese foreign teaching, looking out for more effective methods of teaching is of great practical significance.Task-based teaching was created in the later1980s. As a new teaching method, it advocates taking student as the main body, teachers as the leading factor, emphasizes that students play a key role in the learning process and use learned knowledge in practice. Appling task-based teaching method to Chinese cultural teaching helps improve students’activity and strengthen their culture experience, which promotes students to have keen interest in Chinese language and Chinese culture and motivation to learn them for a long time.This article mainly discusses how the task-based teaching method in Chinese teaching is applied in Chinese culture teaching, including the emergence and development of task-based teaching method, the current research status at home and abroad, the mainly adopted teaching in Chinese traditional culture teaching, the position and significance of culture teaching, the combination method of Chinese culture teaching and task-based teaching method (manifested in the way of specific task design), and the analysis of the role and existing problems of task-based teaching method.
