The Analysis And Exploration Of Chinese Teaching Mode And Resource In Kenya

With the fast developing of Chinese economy and the improvement of international position in the world and also the Chinese government contributing a lot to Chinese language teaching and culture spreading around the whole world,"Chinese" is becoming an unfamiliar and important concept in the eyes of the peoples globally. Kenya is a beautiful and charming country in Africa with advantages in geography location and comfortable weather and friendly peoples, the capital city Nairobi is regarded as "African Paris" being the sites of UN and Chinese embassy and Chinese national media (XINHUA News, CRI, CCTV and China News). It is about15yeas of teaching Chinese in Kenya since1998when the first Chinese class opened at Edgerton University in Nakuri, and then the first Confucius institute in Africa was founded in Nairobi in2005. Nevertheless still it is a big contract that more and more people want to learn Chinese but the standard of teaching is so different in scale, syllabus, curriculum and tests and the situation of teaching Chinese in Kenya is in turndown and pessimistic. The thesis first introduces the basic nation information of Kenya and Chinese teaching, and generalizes the successful Chinese teaching modes aboard and home instanced by American "AP" Chinese teaching mode formed on the "5Cs" standards. After that it analysis the mode and resource of teaching Chinese at different schools, specially commenting the "CICCK Kenya Chinese teaching mode" designed by the writer and improved by teachers on their teaching experience at our school, Kenya oversea Chinese institute, at the last the thesis also talks about the problems of Chinese teaching and suggestions focusing on Overseas Chinese School and improving Chinese teaching natively.
