The thesis is the investigation for listening of10Indonesian students who are in the primary stage on Chinese language, with reference of "Chinese Listening Course" published by Beijing Language University Press. The investigation contains three aspects of listening pronunciation, sentences or dialogues, and short passage. Pronunciation part is investigated and analyzed from initials, finals and tone aspects, while sentences and dialogues part is classified as Number Questions, Place Questions, Nationality Questions, Meaning Questions and Sentence Element Questions. The passage part is classified as detail questions and reasoning questions.The thesis discusses the reasons for causing obstacles in listening for Indonesian students in different aspects, including students themselves and teachers. For students, it relates to influence of their language background, culture difference between China and Indonesia and learning habit. For teachers, it refers to the three aspects including model of teaching, the combination of listening, reading, spoken and written and homework. It raises according strategies and suggestions from teaching strategies, including the strategies before listening, in the listening, after listening.
