A Study On The Modifier-Center Structure In Gui Guzi

In this thesis, the modifier-center structure in Gui Guzi is the main object, and this thesis has made a detailed description and analysis of the modifier-center structure in Gui Guzi. This thesis consists of five chapters.Chapter one gives a review of research status of Gui Guzi and the modifier-center structure, introduces the principles guiding the writing of this thesis, and also introduces the style of this thesis.Chapter two describes the structure forms of the modifier-center structure in Gui Guzi. The modifier-center structure in Gui Guzi can be divided into two kinds. The first kind is nominal modifier-center structure which includes the following three forms:"attribute+qualified word","attribute+conjunction+qualified word" and "qualified word+attribute". The second kind is predicative modifier-center structure which includes the following four forms:"adverbial+qualified word","adverbial+conjunction+qualified word","qualified word+complement" and "adverbial+qualified word+complement"Chapter three analyses the modifier-center structure from the syntactic level, and specifically analyses the constituent of the modifiers and the qualified words in the modifier-center structures, and also analyses the syntactic function of the modifier-center structures in the book.Chapter four analyses the modifier-center structure from the semantic level, and specifically analyses the semantic orientation of the modifiers in the modifier-center structures and the semantic relationship between modifiers and qualified words.Chapter five is the conclusion.
