The Study On The Inscription Of Baoshan Chu-Tomb Bamboo Slips

Since the1970s, a large number of ancient literatures of the Warring States period have been found which attracts the attention of many scholars. The Baoshan Chu Slips is one of them. The academic world for the study of Chu bamboo slips, mostly concentrated in verifying and explaining the text, content researching and character compilation organizing, and the passion of studying on the new literature is relatively higher. As an example, Baoshan Chu Slips has been unearthed for a long time, research is rich and varied, but few specialized systematic study of philology angle. Therefore, with the Baoshan Chu Slips text system as the research material, this paper took deep investigation and analysis from multiple angles, in order to have a more comprehensive understanding of the text features of this Slips, and to provide some basic materials for future study of inscriptions on bamboo slips and silk.There are total four chapters in this paper:The first chapter describes the Baoshan Chu Slips from its research profile including scholars’research and achievements, and this study material finishing, as well as the introduction of contrast material in the course of the study and its select reasons are outlined.The second chapter of word frequency analysis take the means of quantitative analysis and quantitative statistical package on Baoshan Chu Slips in its1438not repeated characters, and the introduction of Guodian Chu Slips and the Chu Bamboo Slips and Silk text word frequency data were analyzed to determine the the local200commonly used words at that time;The third chapter of structural analysis includes two aspects, one of the Baoshan Chu Slips in word structure type statistics, the second is by comparing the Baoshan Chu Slips from the Shuo Wen Jie Zi to find out789characters that Shuo Wen Jie Zi has, of which there are60of the different shape from the examples in Shuo Wen Jie Zi, but are same as the Chongwen, and247characters with different configurations from Shuo Wen Jie Zi. Of configuration component of these247different words, this chapter studied on the reasons of differences and came to a brief summary of the trends of the development from the Warring States text to Xiaozhuan;The forth Chapter studied on the Slips from three angles------complication, simplification and alienation, evolutes examples, summed up the font characteristics of the Slips.
